Wedding tourism forum opens in Sharm el-Sheikh

The International MICE & Wedding Forum (IMWF) was launched in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh from December 18-21 to promote Sharm el-Sheikh as a destination for hosting wedding parties.

Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, said the forum focused on the future of luxury tourism.

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities , USAID host tourism investment forum

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MOTA) in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted the ‘Rewarding Investments in Facility Management in Cultural Heritage Sites’ tourism forum in Cairo on Tuesday 28/11/2023.

Minister Ahmed Issa said the forum is for investing in services in archaeological and heritage areas, and rehabilitating and exploiting some areas to provide investment opportunities.

The forum was attended by investors and partners interested in investing in services at archaeological sites, in addition to development partners and donors interested in contributing to the restoration and preservation of heritage.

At the forum, about 20 sites that were rehabilitated by the SCA were presented for investment through the Ministry.

Transport, tourism ministers probe maximizing Nile tourism in Egypt

Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa have discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the Nile tourism field; in accordance with presidential directives on maximizing Nile tourism.

The two sides stressed that to achieve this goal, efforts will be continued to raise the efficiency of the existing berths and to establish new berths.

Marsa Alam hosts major Polish E-tourism conference

The largest and most significant electronic tourist booking platform in the Polish market,, held its annual conference in Marsa Alam, a city in the Red Sea Governorate.

The event was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion.

The city of Marsa Alam was selected to host this conference because it is a very popular Egyptian tourist destination, especially in the Polish market.

A delegation, led by Mr. Dariusz Górzny, Chairman of the Board of Directors, participated in the conference. It also included top 350 tourist agents selected based on their sales over the past year.

200 French tourism agencies visit Egypt’s tourist attractions

France’s travel agency Travel Evasion, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, has organized the annual promotional trip for 200 French tourism companies and travel agencies.

The trip was organized to Egyptian tourism destinations to give the companies first-hand information about the tourist attractions and their various tourism types.

The trip included visits to tourist and archaeological sites in Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel.

WizzAEgypt’s Borg El-Arab airport receives first Pegasus flight from Istanbul

Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab International Airport received the first Pegasus Airlines flight coming from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Turkey.

According to the flight schedule, the Turkish carrier will operate four flights per week to Borg El-Arab airport.

New Ritz-Carlton hotel will open near Pyramids of Giza & GEM

Luxury hospitality and ancient wonders meet with a new Ritz Carlton slated to open in 2027 by the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The Ritz Carlton Palm Hills hotel will be developed at a cost of EGP 4 billion and is set to feature 150 guest rooms as well as 50 residential luxury apartments.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly presided over the signing ceremony between Palm Hills Developments and Marriott International who currently operate over 25 properties across Egypt including the Ritz-Carlton in Downtown Cairo.
